Hays County Democratic Party Officers

Together, let's make sure Hays County stays Blue. The power of our Party lies beyond one person - it's rooted in the collective efforts of Hays County Democrats engaging with the community, energizing neighborhoods, and transforming our county.

Meet John Hatch

John began his political career 36 years ago after graduating from Texas A&M, when he came to Austin to work as Field Director for Texas Land Commissioner Garry Mauro.  He ran the campaign of a Democrat for State Representative in Williamson and Burnet Counties and defeated a 2-term Republican.

Following his stint as staff in the Texas House, he became a Deputy Field Director for the Ann Richards for Governor campaign.

After her historic win, John would serve 4 years in the Governor’s office, three years in the Criminal Justice Division and one year on Executive Staff.  He was appointed the Director of the Criminal Justice Division by Gov. Richards.

In 2003, John and Rebecca formed their current political consulting company and for the last 20 years has conducted more than 450 petition & election campaigns, in 4 states and has won more than 84% of these efforts, making him one of the top political consultants in the state from either party.

He states his focus is on keeping Hays County Blue in 2024 by building on our successes from 2022.

John & Rebecca and their family have lived in Hays County since 1995.
